Pineapple and the Worm Rip a Skirt

This week my son-in-law, Gary, a.k.a. "Pineapple" hammered away at frame after frame while I ("the worm") sawed and crawled underneath the trailer to help install the skirt filled with insulation. This meant he had to work additional hours at night and this weekend to meet the needs of his clients.

This, just one of many projects to fix up the old trailer where I am making my home a tad above Paradise, near my daughter and her family.

Donovan, the Tennessee Walker, looks down on my abode from his paddock up the hill, and Winnie is a stone's throw away at the main barn.

When Mister Albino rescued Donovan, my daughter adopted Donovan's best buddy, an Appaloosa named Forest, so they could stay together. This was the wish of their caretaker mom, who lost her brave fight with cancer during the summer. Forest and Donovan live with Asali, my daughter's MO Fox Trotter, and Winnie enjoys her "celebrity suite" next to Sam the Mule.

My son, Darshan, came earlier to help paint the inside of the trailer. New carpeting has been installed in the bedroom, and the bathroom scrubbed and restored to a shiny clean!

Thank you, young men for helping me restore the trailer, and thanks to my daughter, for finding this abandoned gem and asking the owner if we could make it into my new home.

It is wonderful to have shelter, my own quiet space, a kitchen where I can cook, and a beautiful view of the Western Sky. Every night God gets out His paint brush and creates a glorious sunset to remind me to be grateful for all that I have.

Winnie Wants Your Opinion

Hi Fans!
Winnie here, blogging from the barn in California. We've had some wild weather here the last couple of days, big winds and lots of rain. I am happy to report that no trees came down at the ranch and all the horses are fine.

On the other hand, I'm sad that Mom decided to relieve Mister Albino of his fan club duties and role as my Fan Club President. She says, since I'm not on the road anymore, and we haven't received any new memberships since I became established in my new home in California, I don't need a Fan Club President. Even though Mom is my caretaker and manager, so to speak, I think I should have been asked about it before she made the decision. I don't want to sound big-headed, but after all, I am a National Treasure, and the star celebrity on these pages. I should have been consulted first. Presidents, I thought, are elected by the people, that's the American Way, and that's why I am putting the question to my Public. Mister Albino has been an excellent President, don't you think? I'd like to keep him on, even if there's not that much work to do at the moment.

To his credit, Mister Albino recently rescued my friend, Donovan, a Tennessee Walker who lost his caretaker to cancer, by paying $1000 for the ownership transfer. He brought Donovan to our barn because Donny needed a good forever home and he knew Mom would love him and care for him. In my opinion, Mister Albino is a good Fan Club President and should stay in office. I am asking all of you to vote to keep him on board, if he will accept, by giving us a "Yes to President Albino" in comments or in an email to me, winnie@walkingwithwinnie.com
Your friend,
Winnie
